writing sheds

This was where Roald Dahl wrote
and came up with Matilda, The BFG and
Danny the Champion of the World...

he wrote for four hours each day in this armchair,
using the green-felt-upholstered board as his desk

What he had in his shed:

a 10-pound ball of aluminum foil made from several years of Cadbury chocolate wrappers

a bit of his hip bone from his first metal hip replacement

pieces of styrofoam tacked onto the walls to keep out the cold
(can't imagine that worked very well)

. . . . . . . .. .

other writing sheds:

Dylan Thomas'

Virginia Woolf's

Henry David Thoreau's

Fantastic photos! Wish I had a shed like one of these ones... You've got a new follower here.

I know someone with a writing shed. It's filled with old typewriters and books and made of rough, bare wood. And yes, I'm totally jealous!

I relaly like your blog a lot, but there is so much space between the pics that it's a bit difficult to view them and be as amazed as one could be :(. Otherwise I really like it :D.

Hi blueberry fingerprints: thanks for your honest feedback - always appreciated:) i like the whiteness that the space gives though - the way i like home interiors to be white too:) cheersx
